LATEST FIRE INFORMATION - UPDATED THURSDAY JULY 4 AT 7:44AM
HIGHWAY INFO-

Highway 32 (Lassen National Forest)is closed due to fire danger from 13 miles East of Forest Ranch to the Highway 36 Junction. Further closures in the Lassen Forest are now in place. Click here for further closures

Highway 70 is closed from 4.1 miles West of Pulga to the Highway 89 Junction.

SHASTA COUNTY INCIDENTS:

53,600 ACRES HAVE BURNED with 48% overall containment - 1842 personnel - The Dry Creek arm of Lake Shasta Northwest of the Dam may be closed for Fire bomber and helicopter use.

Motion Fire (merging with Democrat Fire) – 16,700 acres, 50% containment. 1 home, 1 cabin, 1 garage, and 3 outbuildings were destroyed by the fire. Closures include: Iron Mtn. Road at Rock Creek Rd is open to residence only. River Trail- trails on the west side of the Sacramento River from Keswick Dam north to Shasta Dam are closed. Hornbeck/Walker Mine trail on the east side of the Sacramento River from Quartz Hill Rd. north to Walker Mine Rd. and north to Shasta Dam is closed. Iron Mountain Rd. at Copley OHV Park is closed.


Platina Fire – 5118 acres with 95% containment. FULL CONTAINMENT IS ESTIMATED BY 6PM TONIGHT. 3 structures destroyed including 2 homes.

Moon Fire near Paradise Peak West of Redding between Hwy 36 and 299W has merged with the Mary Fire. 18,600 acres, 25% containment. Road Closures have been lifted. According to authorities there is a possible merging of the Moon Fire and the Deerlick fires.

Deerlick Fire is Southwest of Ono and North of Platina. 16,800 acres burned, containment 30%.

SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FOREST

Lime Complex – 37,448 acres 51% containment.

Iron complex - 20,704 acres burned, containment to 25%

Alps Complex – offshoot of the Iron Complex – 3245 acres burned, 2% containment.

LASSEN COUNTY:

The Cub Complex southwest of Chester has burned almost 6014 acres, is 25% contained, and has 600 personnel assigned to the fires.

WHISKEYTOWN NATIONAL PARK:

Whiskeytown Complex Fires – Boulder Fire, Mary-Little Bally Fire, Bally-Brandy Fire. This complex is at 5200 acres with 35% containment and 332 personnel.

TEHAMA COUNTY:

PLATINA - 5125 acres with 95% containment on the Tehama County side. Evacuations still in place for some residents in Platina area. 3 structures destroyed including 2 homes.

Antelope and Mill Creek fires are 100% controlled.

BUTTE COUNTY: 17,000 acres - 30% overall containment.

BUTTE COUNTY INFORMATION

Public Health Departments urge residents to limit outdoor activity because of wildfire smoke. For questions regarding masks or the need of them, please contact your local health department or your private physician.

ANIMALS:

For those evacuating large animals, Dennis Patterson has a large ranch that will accept animals. Please give him a call at 524-9652. Laurie also has a ranch in the Hooker Creek Road area - Call her at 347-9813. Pam Dalton also has several corrals available. Her number is 357-4730. The Redding Rodeo Grounds is also allowing residents to use any open corrals. Another Chance Animal Welfare League can help those not having trailers evacuate large and small animals. They can also help with housing those animals -Call 547-PETS. Anthony's Tubes and Hoses also has a few acres for people looking for safe housing for large animals. Call 378-2600. Kyle Coulter has 12 acres and is also willing to help people who are looking for a place for their large animals. Call 347-9012
